The gel of Aloe Vera so dear and often recommended has never done much for me, apart from making me feel sticky. And since I didn't even have aloe to go to, I had to be creative. I got tired for a few minutes, and then I hit Google's world to see what I could do to "cure" my sunburn. Because jumping the beach on Sunday was not an option. It was the long weekend, after all. And then I found it: Apple Cider Vinegar. I was skeptical but desperate, so I pulled the ACV and plugged my nose. I combined a cup of cold water and a spoonful of apple vinegar in the bathroom sink, and then I was soaked a tablecloth until it was packed. Then, removing excess water, I put the cloth (very cold) against my sunburn. Instead of rubbing or skating dry, I let my skin dry naturally. Then I did everything again. Once my skin was completely dry, I coated with organic coconut oil and went to bed. When I woke up, the redness was gone and my skin was tanned and soft. Although I can't tell if it would help a serious sunburn, it certainly helped my smooth burn heal enough to get me back to the beach on Sunday. And that has never happened before — never!
